During the past few days I have had the privilege of working the boys and girls 12's tournament in Southlake (with the glorious Susan Wertenberger as referee). While visiting with some parents who travel throughout the US with their children, they made the following comment to me:
"In our opinion, the Texas officials are by far the best in the country!"

Of course I already knew this since Texas officials ALWAYS rank the highest on their test scores. Perhaps it could be because we use modern methods such as power point presentations...
Maybe Texas has the BEST instructors in the US.....
Having traveled to many tournaments throughout the US, I can say the worst officials are from Florida, with Southern Cal coming in a distant second.
Seems that all the parents agreed that Florida has the worst followed closely by California. Guess we actually are doing a good job here in Texas.
Just heard from the Oklahoma officials that they are offended because they aren't #1. Remember, the proof is in the pudding so you'll have to settle for 2nd best...
A LOT of this BRAGGING could NOT happen if we were not FED LUNCH!
A well fed official is always a happy and proficient official.
Houston must not feed their officials. Most of them stink and the rest really need to go on a diet based on what I can tell from watching tv.
