Time For Our Officials Community To Pray

There are different times during the year when we share special needs in our officials family and this is one of those times. Here are two very pressing needs we need to pray about:

CHASE CURRY (a student at Wichita Falls Rider HS and #1 player on their tennis team) was involved in a serious auto accident on Thanksgiving Day. He is still in the hospital in Ft. Worth and undergoing different surgeries. His prognosis is good but his recovery will be very difficult.

MARK MOORE (assistant tennis coach at Plano West HS) was diagnosed with a type 2 malignant brain tumor this week. Mark is undergoing tests to determine the proper course of treatment. Mark went to the doctor today (December 9, 2010) and they said he has the kind of cancer that responds well to chemo so that is a good sign!

I know you will want to remember these two families during the holiday season.

If I left someone off please email me and let me know and I can add them. I don't want anyone to feel left out and I'm sure there are things I don't know about.

Apologize for introducing a new topic but not sure how to contact blog owner.

Could you address the issue of how assigners/coordinators for universities/colleges make decisions on which officials get assigned.

Does the assigner do it alone or does the coach/coaches at the school have input?

What if the coach does not want one of your officials or several to work the home matches? Do you comply or what?

This is a serious question and would like to some serious commentary by those who are assigners/coordinators.

Thanks.

That's a great question...

The coordinator usually works in coordination with the home coach. We don't have to go with their input but its a wise decision to do so.

If a coach tells me they don't want to see a certain official, then they probably won't. I think the other coordinators do the same thing. Of course, this is up to a point. We don't let them dictate everything to us but on the other hand, they are our employers...

Usually I tend to agree with the coach's assessment though.

Hope this helps.
