Its Back To School Time Again

Well, its that time of year again for all officials to head back to the classroom. But--its always fun!!

Remember to bring your USTA card and it wouldn't hurt to bring your data card to be sure that its filled out correctly. Also don't forget to bring your completed tests! You can find them on www.usta.com.

To find the school in your area you should go to the Texas Section website and find their most recent posted schedule. You probably should contact your local coordinator in advance to be sure that the information is correct.

Have fun and do good!!

Do you know who the National Instructor is for the DFW school? If it's the same lady from last year, I will look elsewhere to get re-certified.

I think it is someone named Carol Cox but I'm not positive. Might be the same one as last year.

The instructors' names have always been published in the past. Why not this year? Is it because of the reason noted by Anonymous above?

If it is the same instructor as last year be prepared for a long day. The lady spoke in a slow, drwl, monotone the entire session.

wow I must have been lucky last year I had Tony Nimmons (sp?) at the Fayetteville school and this year in LR we will have Sue Pranke as the National Trainer, so looking forward to the school this year again.

Pranke teach a school - GIVE US A BREAK. She could never fill an auditorium in Texas since we all know her and are smart enough NOT to show up.

What a joke!!!!!! Is this the best the USTA has to offer?

Everyone in Texas is still trying to figure out how Pranke ever got selected to do anything. She is a joke in Texas for sure.

just FYI bitterness will get you no where other than an early grave and less hair.

HaHa now you guys have found something lively to talk about again - Praise the Lord and Tigger too - I remember Pranke well from when I used to get invited to work college matches down south in Texas. She was the one that would always raise her index finger whenever there was a close out ball, irrespective if a player requested it or not. That could result in a tad bid of conflict in a match. But now that I think about it, I do remember most controveries occurred on her court.

And now you are telling me she is a National Trainer -

That's almost as impossible to visualize as watching Linda Hindshaw call footfaults while she's solo-chairing a match and we all know that can't happen since she NEVER sees a player serve. But she sure has that service line call ready...

Remember - My birthday's right around the corner and I'm definitely coming back to Austin this year to celebrate. See ya then. Oh yeah, you officials down in Texas better start collecting "unbroken" pencils for the upcoming year. Word has it that because of all the tree huggers, finding enough trees to make pencils may be difficult....

I wonder if Pranke cancels as many instructor assignments as she does dual matches? If you're an assignor you better have an alternate ready.
