2009 Chair Academy

Plans and personnel are finalized for the 2009 CHAIR ACADEMY--now all we need are our trainees! Our past academy graduates are some of the finest ITA officials in America so you will want to come and join us if at all possible. Here is some of this year's vital information:

Date: May 10-12, 2009.

Location: Plano, Texas (Collin College Campus) in conjunction with the Men's National Junior College Tennis Tournament.

Instructors: Bruce Avery, Joe Buys, Sue Trautmann, Brookie Green, and Marc Archuleta.

Requirements for Consideration:
1. Must be an ITA certified official.
2. Must have some chair experience.
3. Must be approved by Sue Trautmann and Randy McDonald.

This year we are issuing an invitation to be considered to everyone who meets the above criteria. If you are interested, email me (rmtennis@yahoo.com) and we will consider your application.

* The Texas Section will pay for your hotel room on May 10th and 11th and meals will also be provided. You will also receive an official shirt to wear during the tournament.

The CHAIR ACADEMY is the most intense chair training offered in the country so we hope you will consider joining us this year. We have the finest slate of instructors we have ever had, the greatest venue for training, and now all we need is you...

Are you planning to authorize your instructors to break the pencils of your student chair umpires? It seems to be a bad trend in Texas.

In fact we are now offering a new instruction course called "How To Properly Break A Pencil." If you would like the curriculum I could send it to you.

Oh my God - You sure have a wide array of diverse instructors lined up. You have most of the food groups covered!!!!!

You need to add a fourth criterium for being considered: An ample supply of spare pencils.

Something appears to be missing from that list of instructors. Noone on the list has a big-fat ass. The home office will definitely look at this as a lack of diversity. Expect a call shortly.
