The infamous and much-maligned official, Lynn Welch.
Venus' match was boring as dirt, Clijsters gave a ray of hope, and that match between Kvitova and Kanepi was the worst thing I have ever seen on television! Kanepi was choking and wheezing all around the court and that made it even worse. Folks, we see better matches at the Baylor women's matches every time...
I did enjoy hearing McEnroe fawning all over the chair official's voice--and I know the Myronian was thrilled to see his favorite, Lynn Welch, doing one of the matches today.
The equal pay discussion doesn't even hold water after today.

Serena Williams may well win her fourth Wimbledon on Saturday and only a few close relatives and sponsors will give a damn.
Wow, her quarterfinal match againt Li Na was boring. The only dazzle on Center Court came from the sun reflecting off Serena's fingernails. Women's tennis can't go on like this much longer or it will become extinct and Lynn Welch will have to find a real job. At one point in the match, Serena had to wave frantically at a ball boy to gain his attention. The poor chap had as much juice left in him as an umbrella stand.
How many more times can we stand seeing Serena whacking the ball like she's beating the dust out of the carpet in her back yard.

Why be concerned about whaat Myron K thinks on this topic? Unless, of course, the "stories" about the transgression(s) are true, and all of us, not just Myron, should be very concerned. Then again, at least we aren't World Cup referees. Think about that, the biggest sporting event in the world resting in the hands of a single individual making calls from 30-50 meters away from the action. And FIFA does nothing.

Competency never matters in officiating, although there are sometimes tokens added to crews.
Mostly the sychophant worms out the official as the higher one can smooze their way up the badge chain.
The actual tennis being played does not match in importance the butt cheeks smacking going off during every official break time.
That din is matched only by the constant vicious back biting of which ever totem chief is not present.
