Novak Djokovic ascended to the highest heights of men's tennis today when he dominated Rafael Nadal in the finals of Wimbledon. In addition to winning the Australian Open as well, Novak now sits atop the men's world rankings at #1--and rightfully so. The only match he has lost this year was in the semi-finals of the French Open to Roger Federer.
Congratulations to a most worthy champion...

Congratulations to the new Champion. And here's a question for the faithful -- how many years will pass before the next American man or woman wins the Wimbledon, professional, Singles title(s)? For that matter, how long will it be before an American wins any, Grand Slam, professional, singles title?
Unfortunately, not long enough. I'm sure one of the William's sibs will win one soon. Women's tennis is that pathetic!
Well Anon., don't be holding your breath waiting on the next American to win!!!
But, one thing for sure about the USTA, they are CHAMPIONS of DIVERSITY!!!!!

And puke puke puke puke. Did anybody see the special Wimbledon did on Billie Jean Queen? It made me sick watching how she used affirmative action to get equal pay for the Women. In my humble opinion, there is no way they deserve equal pay. The tennis is worse and most are so out of shape it's kinda pathetic to watch. Plus it killed Men's college athletics so we can have Women's flickerball and other useless sports.

Not fair by any rational observation, but it's the facts.
I guess the girls get paid for how loud they squeal when they hit the ball because they sure don't do anything else to earn their high price tags.
Thankfully it is not up to you guys, or there would be no women's tennis, probably anywhere. Sorry you guys were so mistreated by some female in your past for you to hate women's tennis so badly.
As I understand it you get paid the same whether it is a men's match or a women's match. Take away women's tennis and you cut you income substantially. So quit griping

July 7 3:37 I have go agree with you - take the girls/women's tennis away and we get paid 1/2 - so please DO IT - I am not doing this for money anyway!!!! Just happiness - and that would make very happy!!!!
It would be fantastic to ban women from playing tennis. Every time I make the mistake and work a women's tournament, I really regret it and it usually takes me four to five days to recover. I would rather sit on the crapper all day than get paid to have to watch a bunch of girls attempt to play the game of tennis.
But then again, at least working a women's match is a quick endeavor. Hell, when was the last time a women's match lasted more than 30 minutes. That makes them kinda tolerable.
What women's tennis has Alpha male been watching? In way too many ITA Women's matches one of the players runs out to a big lead, then starts playing conservatively because she no longer wants to win the match, she just wants to make sure she doesn't lose it!. Soon, her lead evaporates and the opponent realizes she could win the match, so she stops playing aggressively. So now, both players are no longer playing to win, the're playing to see if their opponent will lose the match. Next thing you know, you've been in the chair for hours watching boring tennis and even the coaches are considering suicide because they can't believe what they're seeing.
