The Apple Doesn't Fall Far From The Tree

Mitch Krueger & Shane Vinsant at the French Open

Shane & Mitch in action in their semi-finals match.

That's what my Mother always taught me and now I see it coming true in the tennis world...

Mitch Krueger and Shane Vinsant are playing for the French Open Junior Doubles crown tomorrow after winning their semi-finals match 6-2, 6-2 today. Both young men are the sons of tennis officials so you can see the benefit that a good family background has on a tennis player.

Proud parents of Mitch Krueger are Myron and Marla Krueger and Shane's parents are Dave and Cheryl Vinsant.

Ah, some good news instead of back-biting. Bravo to the boys and well-done to the parents of such good boys!

Good Luck to Mitch & Shane tomorrow. This could be their 2nd tourney win in a row, after winning the last time out at the Italian Jr. Open.

After Mitch retires from his tennis pro career, I'll convince him to take up officiating so I can pass along my world-class ball sorting skills. Haha

But really, this is a great opportunity. There hasn't been an American junior doubles champion since 1987 when Jim Courier and Jonathan Stark took the title.

PS - thanks goodness for Marla and Cheryl - not too sure about Dave but I know for a fact that Myron cannot stay on a bike - the boys had to get their athleticism from someone!!!

I'll be anxiously waiting to hear the results tomorrow...I'll be working our USTA ladies league playoffs tomorrow, which translates to "watching cats fight"!

Alas, the Texas boys lost in 3rd set super-tiebreak to the 4th seed team from Spain. 7-5; 6-7; 5-10
