Predictions for 2010

Here are a list of my predictions for 2010 (you are welcome to take them at their face value, which is nothing):

* Officials will gain in popularity and make great gains in proficiency. Even the Texas Section Junior Council will be pleased with our progress.

* Texas will beat Alabama in the BCS bowl.

* Democrats will lose many seats in the 2010 elections but not enough to lose their majorities in both houses.

* Tech will try to hire the TCU football coach but will end up hiring Tommy Tuberville.

* There will be a huge scandal among those officials who do professional matches.

* The "to be determined" officials schools promised for the spring will not happen.

* The ITA coordinator in one of the major venues in Texas will announce retirement.

* The UT men's tennis team will again reach the NCAA finals.

* The Baylor men and women will win the Big 12 tennis tournament.

* Some school in the Texas portion of the Big 12 will at least announce valid plans for an indoor facility.

* Officials in the Metroplex will enjoy having their meals provided.

* There will be at least two and maybe three major scandals at high levels in the Obama administration.

* UT will interview Mike Leach for their offensive coordinator but turn him down after the interview and background check.

* Myron Krueger will buy yet another bike.

* Chuck Scott will get a modern day hair cut and banish his comb-over forever.

* The secret Ad Hoc Committee meetings will be disbanded.

* Both A&M and OU will beat Texas in football. The margins will be slim but victories nontheless. Nebraska will win the Big 12 title.

* Glen Whitaker will put back on 10 pounds.

I predict that Petey will file yet another grievance against a yet to be determined issue.

I believe the House will change hands in the 2010 elections and the Republicans will gain enough seats to take back the majority. The people will speak to make this huge move possible.

Randy, let me get this straight; Baylor men will win the Big 12 but UT men will be in the NCAA finals. How does that compute??

Baylor can win the Big 12 tournament but then Texas can and will get a bid to the NCAA tournament and advance to the finals. Baylor will probably finish in the semi-finals with a loss to Georgia.

How's that for prognosticating?

Isn't the Big 12 Tournament in Austin this year? How is UT going to lose at home with those Homer officials they have?

That's funny since I've always thought the homer officials were in College Station. Just ask around and you will see.

This blog is going to get shut down by the USTA after they get their lawyers involved. Randy will be banned from officiating for life for being a non-diverse old white guy.

Texas is going to lose cause Baylor rules and will crush Randy's beloved horns in the finals. Before the match, each Baylor player will donn Crimson Tide shirts which will cause the 'horns to start boo-hooing since they will still have bad memories from January 7th when their brethren were disected on National TV and embarassed like no other time in history.

I am indeed growing older (but wiser) ever day. As you can see, I am growing more TOLERANT AND DIVERSE as I am allowing so many disparaging comments about the 'Horns. If they lose on Thursday I am going to take an extended trip and not publish any comments... If they win, I will of course be here with bells on!

Bye RM. Have a good trip. We'll miss you!

Poopy, Randy has already had that visit from the suits at the USTA. After some minor refinements, Randy's blog quickly fired back up. And no doubt they regularly monitor the blog for comments from fly-over country. Unless Obama totally remakes the USA we will not be hearing back from them anytime soon.
