ITA Question... How Would You Rule?

Scenario: In an ITA Division I women's tournament one of the players takes a bathroom break after the players split sets. She returned 8.5 minutes later.

What would you do???

If I am a female official, I would have gone in the restroom after 3-4 minutes to find out if a medical time-out was needed.
If I am a male official, I would have found a female official (not in a chair) or a female tournament staff member to go check on her after 3-4 minutes to see if a medical time-out was needed.
If she is requesting a MTO, then summon a trainer and follow the rules. If she does not need a MTO and is 'resting', then tell her she is on the clock and go back to the court and wait for her.

I had a very similar situation just 2 weeks ago. Singles player came back from backroom break on a set-break at 6:06 minutes. I suggested she needed to hurry up in the future on bathroom breaks. TIME!! Let's Play. What else can you do?? Her coach didn't know of any 'special problems' she might be having that day. Thankfully we don't have that problem with MEN"S tennis...

However, the opponent's coach asked if he could hit with his player? NO!! Then he wanted to know if his player could hit serves?? YES!! But with non-match balls. They had none. We just waited......

Hmmm not much. I would probably ask her if everything came out alright.

It seems pretty straight forward to me.If the Referee had defined
"reasonable time" at the facility, there were chair umpires on each court, and procedures had been explained to the Coaches, there would be no confusion and penalties would be applied.
If, on the other hand, the Referee had not taken these actions and/or there were not chair umpires then the answer is again simple. There is nothing you can do.

Sounds like abuse of the system. Maybe due to my "inexperience" I'm not aware of anything that can be done as a result of her action. However, as soon as she steps one foot on the court, call "play" and start the stop watch.
