2011 ITA Season Begins

The 2011 ITA tennis season began this past weekend in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This year looks like one of the greatest ever!

The University of Texas men's tennis team crushed Tulsa 6-1, and California 5-2, this past weekend in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Jim Lawson and Paul Jordan led the way in officiating and were able to provide some great on-court training for one of our new officials, Ron Ferguson. What a great way to start the collegiate season...

Looks like the Longhorn tennis team has lifted Randy's spirits......Temporarily, that is, until the Aggies saw off some Longhorns on Feb. 4th.!!!!!

Did Mr. Ferguson code the tu player for yelling out JESUS or has he learned his lesson?

A temporary moment of joy is better than no joy at all...

I think we finally agreed that "Jesus" is a code in Oklahoma but not in Texas. Maybe.

As usual, my favorite official made her entrance in a dramatic fashion. Evidently, she doesn't understand how the basic watch works. For the 12:00 match Sunday in Tulsa, she sashays onto the court at 12:35 for sideline duties during the doubles matches. Geeze!!!

...and she was 1.5 hours late for the officials school in College Station. I know that will make your day Eeyore.

SHES BACKKKKKKKKK - but not doing a lot of work in Texas. She is slowly migrating North of the border and soon will be knocking on your backdoor.

Well Eeyore, a lot of us down in TEXAS have been trying "unsuccessfully" to export your favorite official to your back yard. We are getting closer. Rumor has it she is now primarily working in Oklahoma. I'm sure the state will get added revenue from her cause she hasn't learned how to drive like a sane person and probably never will. Maybe her gas pedal will get stuck one day and she will end up in Kansas so she can start playing with TOTO.

How about you rename the BLOG in honor of the person you guys talk about all the time... almost sounds like a school yard conversation! Being a "professional" like you are RM - why do you allow this banter? Suggestion - stick to what you do good - helping educate our officials!

Sometimes I'm busy doing other things and just let the children loose to play in the playpen. Perhaps I should monitor all the comments before they show up...

RM wouldn't get the responses if he didn't include tidbits about everyone's most favorite official. It's apparent you haven't had the "privelege" of working with her. If you had, then you would see the light.

By the way, if you are only interested in being professional, then maybe you should just keep subscribing to tennis magazines and read the stimulating responses from Rich Kaufman on sticky situations.
