With a $40.28 entry fee the Cotton Bowl can sure as heck pay for the officials lunches.

So if the Cotton Bowl has 700 entries again and they all play singles = $28,000. And if half play doubles = $10,000. And if there are 4 sites times 6 days times 1 official and 1 site director = 48 meals. 48 times $7 Subway sandwich/chips/drink = $336. This is probably a bit low, but $400 would probably cover it all. And I know that there is a long list of expenses for running this tournament PLUS they need to make a profit. But $400 is not an unreasonable amount.

There is one tournament here in Texas (not Dallas area) where the tournament directors split a $40,000 profit--and paid for meals at the same time!

I think the main problem is that we have too many weak referees that don't have the gonads to stand up to tournament directors.
