The ITA shortened format for Div I Non-Conference Men’s AND Woman’s Dual Matches:
- No-ad scoring in singles and doubles.
- Three doubles matches played, each match one set to 6, with a tie-break at 6-all. Play stops after one school wins two of three doubles
- Followed (after a brief intermission; time TBD) by six singles matches, each match 2 out of 3 sets, with tie-breaks at 6-all.
- No warm-up with opponents (in doubles and in singles)

It makes absolutely no sense to play out the singles. I want to become a doubles specialist and go home.
I forsee that Myron and I are going to be "doubles only specialists" in 2015.
Big 12 Tennis 2014-15 Manual, Page 30, Appendix E Summary of Big 12 Format Changes. Clinch-Clinch. Unless both coaches agree prior to the match, singles will end when match is decided.
finally paid more attention and see the rules are for Non-Conference, great so now that I am working 3 different conferences I get to learn 3 different sets of rules. Thanks ITA.
They are going to be used all year long in the Big 12.
I was saying in jest, but would be a hoot if conferences chose to do their own thing. I know SEC and Southland are going to follow the guidelines
