Here are a few thoughts and musings from our hero--Serena...
* I only made $1.5 million at this year's tournament so I have the right to scream.
* That chair official hates me so I can do whatever I want.
* I didn't think Stosur was that good.
* Venus got better toys than I did.
* My butt is too big to get around the court that fast.
* All chair officials hate me because I'm black.
* My Daddy made me do it.
* I'm still mad because Venus designs better dresses than I do.
* I miss Henin.
* Too bad I couldn't have had Lynn Welch for a chair umpire. She overrules everything.
* I should have gone to college.
* Does anyone have Hussein Obama's phone number? Maybe he could help me with my anger management classes.
* A $2,000 fine? I spend that much on my nails.
* Since I'm black, I should get 3 games and choice of toss at the first of every match.
* I want a black chair official for all of my matches. Maybe then I'll get the respect I deserve.
* Am I the best female tennis player ever? YES

Why do all the Official's judgment calls always go against Serena?
No wonder she is angry.
Stosar was not hindered. She would have never gotten that ball back even if Serena had not shouted, come on.
What? Shows what you know. It was a definite hindrance. You have no clue and Serena has no class. Serena again claimed the same amnesia about what she did and said during the match to the chair just as she did in 2009. She also would not answer the questions in her post match interview see 2009 and 2011. She only gave lame responses that didn't answer the questions presented at all. Ala she still believes she is above it all and bigger than the game with no remorse for anything. She refuses to apologize for anything even if she doesn't mean it. Just another example of her not taking any responsibility for her actions. She is a good athlete but a horrible person and a disgrace to all of tennis by the crap that she constantly pulls and claims no resposiblility for. She should have been supsended the first time in 2009 and certainly this time since she was on probation which was such a weak light sentence for her first incident in 2009. Maybe she and daddy should quit tennis and try poker because we all know they can play one card. She is a World Class POS!!!!!!!!!!!
As I understand the rule, it was applied correctly. Just surprised it was done at the pro level. They let them get by with most everything else.

Anon 9:32...it was a clear hinderance, and having a play on the ball means the player could reasonably reach/hit the ball, it's not a prediction of if the ball would go in.

It was a deliberate hinderance while the point was ongoing. She has been called on this before. Maybe it's time she accepted that she is NOT above the rules.
Serena didn't say one word to the chair official about the ruling....just ranted personal attacks. She is a disgrace. Not ONCE has she taken responsibility for her behavior on the court.
It was a legit call. Though Serena was ranked 28, she is obviously top 10. I think maybe the top players should be held to a strict standard for the sake of the game; but more often they are not.
Get hold of this week's Sports Illustrated. Most of their Open coverage is a slam at the USTA snd how ineptly the tournament was run. They imply that the men will form a union based on the success of their protest about playing too many matches in too short a period of time. SI also slams the USTA about the wet court issues.And they take a few shopts at Serena. Interesting perspective opn the "money grubbing" that goes on.

Wonder what would of happened if instead of this player being Serena - it was someone of much lesser ranking - who was on probation and then berated an official like senera did - would the USTA treat them the same - I really think not - I think the USTA is very raciest and that was GREAT proof!!!!
Well, that last part is true.
I think the rule is unfair. Stosur had no play on that ball...and she was awarded the point?!
Jeez, Imwish some of the Anonymous posters here would use their real name, would be good to know who doesn't know the rules before it blows up in someone's face
