Collin College has been the host for the men's national junior college tennis tournament (NJCAA) for the past 10 years and it is now one of the finest tournaments in the land. The tournament features a Texas Section Chair Academy taught by national and state instructors and now chairs all the matches in the tournament. In 2012, the NJCAA national tournament will also feature the Big 12 Chair Academy in conjunction with the tournament. The Collin College men's team was tri-national champions in 2010.
This year Collin College has made another step in modern technology with the addition of their computerized desk. The tournament desk features screens that show updated matches and scores as well as updated draws for all players and spectators. These new additions are featured above.

What is the Big 12 Chair Academy? Is that different from the Texas Section Chair Academy?
Didn't Collin County lose all draw scores when someone uploaded the incorrect file? Be careful of modern technology.

BUT, How many INDOOR COURTS do they have?
Baylor will have 4-indoor courts sometime in the future.
TCU already has 5-indoor courts.
SMU has 6 brand new outdoor courts, that they plan on demolishing and then building 6 new-new outdoor courts. Let's pray they get a different designer/contractor and a bigger piece of land to build those courts on.
Adding to Wally's comments ref SMU...let's hope they put some dividers bewteen the new-new courts, which are not to be confused with the new indoor courts, that we also hope have dividers between them. Let's also hope the new-new courts don't have the same gale force winds the old-new courts have.

What is this Big 12 chair academy? Does anyone know or is it some secret?
The Big 12 Chair Academy is a chair academy taught by national instructors and is a requirement for all Big 12 officials. At some point in their officiating lives they must have gone to a chair academy. I'm not sure how many this means but I think its quite a few. It is only for Big 12 officials and not for the general officiating public.
"...and not for the general officiating public."....or for Big 12 aspirants (wannabees)?
So does this mean that there are big 12 officials who have not passed a chair school in the past? So what are the criteria to be one if chair school has not be required?
If Collin County is on the cutting edge of technology, why do their tournaments still drag out like a bad case of gas?
