Unexpert & Biased Bowl Evaluations

BCS BOWL
Auburn vs Oregon
January 10, 2011
Payout: $17 million

At least with that payout Auburn can pay Cam Newton's Dad what he wants.
ROSE BOWL
TCU vs Wisconsin
January 1, 2011
Payout: $21 million

This is the granddaddy of all bowls (and most respected). TCU came out a winner even if they didn't get to the BCS.

FIESTA BOWL
Oklahoma vs University of Connecticut
January 1, 2011
Payout: $17 million

Who knew that Connecticut even had a football team? At least OU can enjoy their $17 million payout on this joke of a matchup.

COTTON BOWL
A&M vs LSU
January 7, 2011
Payout: $3.75 million to A&M and $3.4 million to LSU

Kind of a come-down for LSU both on the field and financially but at least A&M got to go somewhere. The bright side is that they will be playing in Jerry's World and paying $9 for nachos.

TEXAS BOWL
Baylor vs Illinois
December 29, 2010
Payout: $612,000

It was hard to even find the logo for this one! Thank goodness it will be over by the first of the year. With that payout Baylor will have trouble paying to bring their band.

ARMED FORCES BOWL
SMU vs Army
December 30, 2010
Payout: $750,000

Just glad that Dallas takes care of its own on this one. There should be plenty of tickets available at game time.

TICKETCITY BOWL
Texas Tech vs Northwestern
January 1, 2011
Payout: $1.1 million

Not sure how they got the payout up to $1.1 million. Tech should really enjoying playing in Fair Park in Dallas on January 1st. Hope it doesn't ice over!

** SPECIAL NOTE: Please notice that there is no bowl listed for the Texas Longhorns because they were pathetic and not bowl eligible.

I heard that the 20 some-odd Texas players who won't be getting special parole for the holidays will be cleaning their jailhouse toilet bowls and playing a game to see who can make the stainless steel rims sparkle the most. That way, they can tell everybody they actually played in a bowl game, keeping their bowl-game streak alive.

I do notice that everyone always seem to tie their good or bad fortunes to the UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS.

Is it jealousy or envy??

I personally would like to see the Cotton Bowl restored to its old place of glory.
But as an LSU alum, it's hard to see us lose the Sugar Bowl from our grip because of sloppy play. At least Arkansas can say it beat a top 5 team and finally get the Sugar Bowl. LSU has had a robust history in the bowl that's literally a home game for them 45 minutes away from Death Valley. But I'm not bitter.

I believe it would be payback for all of the Texas arrogance spewing from the football and baseball locker rooms.

Don't you remember when the baseball team refused to get their second place trophies when they were spanked in the college world series.

Typical Texas hypocrites so it's good to get some payback.

And I am sure there is no spewing from the A&M, Baylor, and Sooner locker rooms???

Is Texas firing the wrong coach today??

Just wondering!!!
