In a singles match with singles sticks, the player hits a groundstroke that hits the top of the net between the net post and singles stick and then goes in.
Is the ball good or does the player lose the point?
SCENARIO TWO
In a singles match with singles sticks, the player runs up to the net to hit a short ball. He then returns the ball for a winner but while it is still in play he runs into the net and net post outside of the singles stick.
Does he lose or win the point?

I say read Page 2777.33 of the Obama Health Care regulation - it clearly states that this invasion is something that can be discussed at a later time if fever continues and form 377.7 is not filed in a timely manner.

Whomever gets the first one wrong should be forced to buy not only their own but every other officials lunch. If singles sticks are in use, anything outside them is considered a permanent fixture so the player hitting the ball loses the point. This is the whole point of singles sticks....:)
In the second case, touching any part of the net or posts including that part outside the singles sticks while a ball is in play causes the loss of a point.
I do realize these can be tricky to call at full speed without a proper angle, but if both players agree about what transpired, above is accurate.
You are incorrect with the second Mike. It is a permanent fixture so you can touch it without losing the point.
Why would the area outside the singles sticks still be considered in play as far as touching, would be as if they do not exist when singles sticks are used.
Believe I have seen numerous examples where a player can touch the net and posts outside of the singles sticks since it is not technically part of the court anymore.

Question from Mary Ann: I returned a ball that was hit short over the net and after making a good angle return I touched the net support pole (not the net) with my hand. Is it my point or the opponents'?
KAUFMAN: In doubles, if you touch the net or the net post during play, you lose the point. When playing singles, with no singles sticks, if you touch the net post or net during play you lose the point. If you are playing with singles sticks and you touch the net post or net outside the singles sticks, it is NOT loss of point and play continues. If you touch the singles stick or any part of the net inside the singles sticks while the ball is still in play, you lose the point.
