FEDERER: Pehaps The Greatest Ever!

Sometimes we have the privilege in life of being around someone who is called the "greatest" in some sport--and that is truly our privilege today with Roger Federer...

Roger won his 14th Grand Slam Singles title (tying Pete Sampras) with his victory today at the French Open.

Just imagine how many more Grand Slam singles titles are within his reach. And we get to witness part of history being made...

Thanks Roger for letting us share in your special moment.

My all-time favorite is Ivan Lendl. 8-straight years in U.S. Open final---winning 3-straight in that run.

Hello,

I have been admiring the athletes and champions of tennis since the 1950's, played at the open level, officiate in the SEC, am a ITF white badge, for what all that is worth,

but there is no doubt that Federer is the most special kind of talent, and displays superb skills and courtsmanship in his matches, and gracious and honorable in his wins and commentary.

He is a prince, and we living today are lucky to see such skill and sportsmanship displayed to model for our students and our selves.

About how much is that ITF White Badge worth? Not Much!!!

That's nothing but a gofer badge.

Hey Wally,

Lets get together after our next assignment.

For the gofer slur spite comment,

In the officiating world I inhabit, I prefer refereeing,

and having the good fortune to have participated in the referee white badge training,

I can now referee USTA ITF junior events, which I very much enjoy.

JoePublic,

Where you the referee of the Waco ITF where you only gave a player 20 minutes between his singles and doubles finals matches?

If you are, you should turn in your badge now cause you are incompetent.

Read the rules dude! There was NO tv coverage so your little antic that minimum rest periods for the finals don't apply.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention his singles match lasted over 2 1/2 hours.

Hello Anonymous Rude Hateful Person,

You have me confused with some other person you hate.

I am not from your area, and know none of the people you spite and slur.

The blog owner should encourage respectful postings.

If this trash talking by Texas officials is acceptable here, I will not be back.

Joe Public.

To Joe Public

If you think this is trash talking, I don't see how you are a tennis official. The writer's question was not trash talking. They simply asked a question regarding a VERY uncomfortable. event.

Lighten up!
