The 2011 officials exams are now posted online at the site listed below. The online version (which is required before you attend a school) has not been published yet. We will notify you when they become available but for now, you can start studying...
Be sure to note that there is a permanent link to this page on the information bar at the right of the blog.
Here is the link to the exams:
Post the answers please. That would really shake things up at the USTA.
ReplyDeleteIf they were to be sent in as a comment they would probably be posted.
ReplyDeleteThere are always 2-3 questions on each test that don't make sense. I plan on blogging for help on these!
ReplyDeleteGo usta!
WOW - these test look good! Good job Bruce or whomever...
ReplyDeleteSeems like they get better every year. By the way do we get lunch with these schools?
ReplyDeletePlease post who is teaching at each school.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I might like to, I would imagine that if I posted the answers to the tests that I would soon be DECERTIFIED!
ReplyDeleteI would be willing to put difficult questions up for discussion if you bloggers would like that.
Discussion is good for the soul!
ReplyDeleteUSTA Officials Test uncertainties:
ReplyDelete#15 - A - a racket can strike a permanent fixture and play continues but I don't find it in the book
#16 - B, but its not clear
#21 - B & C both seem right
Does anyone agree or disagree with me?
Answers to the USTA test are as follows:
ReplyDeleteabdcdabdumbassdbcc...
haha you may want to check for yourself if you don't believe me.
I wonder if Stanley Smith knows Leon Lipp? They have a lot in common.
ReplyDeleteLet's just add more comedy to the whole background check issue:
ReplyDeleteToday I received the December issue of Tennis Life Magazine. It has a brief article "How Do I Become A Tennis Official?"
It refers to turning in your Data Card to Bruce Sampley - Nucula is never mentioned!
Clearing a background check is never mentioned under basic requirements!
What a joke!
This might be a dumb one but have issues with #13-14. C/C
ReplyDeletePlay reasonable pace, but if not breaking 20 sec, it is not a violation per se, so would either do nothing or caution on changeover for reasonable pace, of course ITA is different rule. So also affects #11 (B)
Am I reading to far in.
Jason -
ReplyDeleteI agree with you:
#11 - B
#13 - C

This is a great idea if people will respond. Here are the ITA Questions I was not comfortable with:

#25 - B
#26 - A
#39 - C
#40 - B
#49 - B
#50 - C
What do others think?
I would like to hear what some others think about quesitons 15,16, & 21 on the usta test. I agree that those quesitons are loopy.
ReplyDeleteWhoever started this had a great idea.
